Texas Kindergartner’s Rare Paul Skenes Card Discovery

It’s not every day that a kindergartner from Texas becomes the latest sensation in the world of baseball cards, but that’s precisely what happened to young Champ Stutts. With a collection of over a thousand cards already under his belt, Champ recently stumbled upon a true gem—a rare “one of one” Paul Skenes Onyx card that left even seasoned collectors green with envy.

The Big Discovery

On an ordinary Monday, Champ opened a pack of cards and unearthed the ultra-rare Paul Skenes card. His genuine excitement, immortalized on video by his mother Kristi and shared on the family’s TikTok account, “Stutts Family Fun,” swiftly went viral.

In a twist of fate, LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who is dating Paul Skenes, stumbled upon the video. Livvy not only commented on the TikTok post but also shared it with Skenes himself.

Champ recounted, “She showed it to Paul Skenes. And Paul Skenes commented. I think he said, ‘You’re coming to one of my baseball games.'”

Adding to the thrill, the Pittsburgh Pirates also entered the picture. They reached out to the Stutts family, promising to send Champ a Paul Skenes jersey, solidifying this momentous occasion for the young baseball card enthusiast.

A Family Affair

Champ’s passion for baseball cards is deeply rooted in his family. His father, who embarked on a quest for a Skenes Topps Chrome rookie patch card last November, passed down his collecting enthusiasm. Now, Champ’s zeal has even influenced his two-year-old brother, who insists on snuggling with cards every night.

Despite being a caring older sibling, Champ is mindful of his valuable cards. “Bro, don’t bend it,” he asserts sternly to his brother, ensuring that the more precious cards remain in pristine condition.
